Bob Biehl began his career with NSA as a coach and organizer of the Central Illinois Diamonds Softball Club in 1995. As the coach of the Central Illinois Diamonds from 1995- 2001 Bob had impressive finishes with this five age groups (10u- 18u): 18th in NSA (18u) 1995 World Series; 5th in NSA 1999 (18u) FastPitch World Series; 3rd in NSA (16u) 2001 FastPitch World Series; 2002 NSA (10U) FastPitch World Series Champions.
In 2002 Bob was appointed as the Illinois State Youth and Adult Fast Pitch Director. Bob has organized and ran the Illinois State Tournament since 2002 and has worked as a site director in FastPitch World Series in multiple states including Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Bob is on the staff that created and runs the NSA Missouri – Illinois Border Bragging Tournament which has grown to over 100 teams.
Bob has been involved with the game of fastpitch for over 50 years. He has been a witness to many changes in rules, equipment, athletes and methods over the years. Bob states and truly believes “Fastpitch softball is the best and most exciting game around”.
Bob has been recognized for his contributions to the NSA Fastpitch Program at the state, zone and national level by winning the NSA National Award – Mary Conner Youth FastPitch Outstanding Achievement Award in 2012 and the NSA National State Director of the Year in 2014.
On November 5, 2015, Bob Biehl was inducted into the NSA Sports Hall of Fame in the Director Category.
