NSA Hall of Fame: Charles Smith (2012)

Charles (Chuck) Smith began playing in a men’s softball league at the age of 14 in Rochester, NY, and by the age of 18 began his career in weekend travel tournaments with a team named Honeys Pizza from Ontario, Canada.  In recent years, Chuck has been instrumental in founding softball teams to play in the PA/NY area tournaments and also restarting a league in Rochester, NY.

During his career, Chuck has won various awards with NSA including Most Valuable Player in 1995 and All World Tournament selection in 1997.  He has played in over 2,000 games and has 16 perfect games and 31 no hitters to his credit during his first 44 years of fastpitch.  Chuck played on the Bombers team which was the National Runner Up in 2004 and National Champions in 2005 with the NSA.

On October 25, 2012, Charles (Chuck) Smith was inducted into the Player Category in the NSA Sports Hall of Fame.
