NSA Hall of Fame: Dan Cunningham (2011)

Dan Cunningham is a man of strong moral character who is loyal, honest and always willing to do whatever it takes to make the NSA program 100% successful.  Dan’s support of the NSA program is a major reason that NSA has been, and continues to be successful in the state of Illinois.

Beginning in January of 2000, Dan was appointed Executive Director of EastSide Centre in East Peoria Illinois. EastSide Centre is currently one of the leading complexes in the nation who support NSA and Dan is the leader and the driving force behind the operations of EastSide.  Dan made it possible for the NSA to Bring the Girls Super Fast Pitch World Series to the EastSide Centre in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2006.  Dan has also been the host for the Girls Fast Pitch World Series in 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2010.  He has hosted the Illinois FP State Tournament from 2004 – 2012 (the time of this writing).  In 2012 Dan and the EastSide Centre hosted the BPA World Series.  Dan and the EastSide Centre staff has hosted every Illinois HS State Tournament from 2001 – 20012 (the time of this writing).

Dan is an Ambassador for NSA but more importantly, Dan is an Ambassador for not only the sport of Softball and Baseball, but to the youth of our nation.  Though he Champions the NSA 100%; he also is a Champion for the Game and the Youth.

Dan Played High School and Collegiate Baseball in Illinois.  When his Collegiate days were over, Dan played FP and SP Softball for 20 years winning several state championship titles in the state of Illinois.  Dan is married to Janice Cunningham and is father to Chad Cunningham. 

In November of 2011, Dan Cunningham became the 14th inductee in the Meritorious Category.
