NSA Hall of Fame: Mike Latoszkiewicz (2008)

Mitchell “Mike” Latoszkiewicz was the first to bring an umpire crew to the Michigan Fastpitch Program and this began his NSA career in 1995. 

Mike was the first person to hold the title of State Umpire-In-chief for Fastpitch in Michigan.

With Mike’s leadership, the Michigan FastPitch Program has grown to a strong and successful program.

Mike received multiple awards from the Michigan NSA Program, the NSA Northern Zone and NSA National Office for his outstanding dedication and professionalism.

Mike’s National Awards include:

1998 Eddie Caillouet Award – Fastpitch Umpire of the Year

2010 Mike Coppinger – UIC Award of the Year

Mike is a true ambassador for NSA and the game of softball.  He will always be known as “Lettuce and Cabbage” because many could not pronounce his last name. Mike will always be known for his dedication, selflessness, sense of humor and all of these traits have earned him the title of mentor, gentleman and friend to all that know him.

On November 6, 2008, Mitchell “Mike” Latoszkiewicz was inducted into the NSA Sports Hall of Fame in the Umpire Category.
