Dennis “Denny” Schwantner began his career with NSA in 1998 as the Women’s Slow Pitch Director in the state of Missouri. He has stepped up and served NSA in many capacities during his tenure as a Director:
- Directed 4 Women’s Slow Pitch World Series tournaments
- Helped Chuck Middleton establish the NSA Industrial World Series and directed 4 of those
- Has worked 2 Fast Pitch World Series tournaments in St. Louis and 3 Women’s World Series tournaments
- Established the MO / IL Braggin’ Rights tournament with Garnet Bebermeyer and Bob Biehl
- Was elected into the St. Louis Hall of Fame in 1995
- Became the St. Louis Metro Director in 1996
- Has been a part of the Northern Zone World Series GFP Committee for the over 10 years
- Became the MO State Youth Director in 2017
During his time with NSA, he has worked as a tournament or site director in many NSA Qualifiers, State Tournaments, NITs and World Series tournaments. As a Director, Denny has always put the team’s first and foremost above anything else. He is always willing to listen to the teams and do what is best for the teams as well as NSA.
On November 7, 2021 Dennis “Denny” Schwantner was inducted into the NSA Sports Hall of Fame in the Director Category.
