NSA Hall of Fame: Requirements and Nomination

The Hall of Fame in any organization means that you have reached the pinnacle level – the best of the best – and we are honored to showcase that for everyone to share for years to come.

Requirements for HOF Consideration: (Revised Feb 2024)

Adult Player Requirements

  1. To be nominated for selection into the NSA-BPA HOF, a player must have been an active player (male or female) for a minimum of seven (7) years, with no record of disciplinary action.  If a candidate has been accepted by the NSA for championship play, that candidate will be eligible for selection.  A player need not be retired, nor must a player retire, if inducted to the NSA-BPA HOF.
  2. The length of playing time will be a factor in the evaluation and consideration of all nominees.  Accomplishments at the regional level or above, shall be used as a gauge for candidacy, and these accomplishments shall be at the championship level.  Detailed and documented information MUST be presented to the NSA-BPA HOF Committee before a candidate can be accepted for nomination.  Factual documentation and newspaper clippings are acceptable; also letters from competent, acceptable references may be submitted and used for the selection process.
  3. A player must have been selected to the All-Tournament team on three (3) occasions at the regional level; however, any player that is selected for an All-Tournament team at the State level for five (5) years will be eligible for consideration.  Any special recognition at the State level or above will be considered, such as: Tournament MVP, Offensive MVP, Defensive MVP, All-Tournament Selection, Sportsmanship, etc.
  4. Players not accepted will be automatically re-submitted the following year, unless held over by the Committee for consideration due to a technicality.

Non-Player Requirements

  1. Director:  A minimum of ten (10) years as an NSA or BPA Director.  In addition to qualifying for this award, the following criteria will be considered in the selection process for nominees:
  1. The number of State, NationalRegional, or World Series Tournaments directed.
  2. Chairman or Vice-Chairman of a National Committee.
  3. The number of annual meetings attended.
  4. Special awards or recognitions, either inside or outside the softball/baseball community.
  5. Contributed greatly to advance the NSA or BPA organization.
  1. Umpire: A minimum of ten (10) years as and NSA or BPA Umpire.  In addition to qualifying for this award, the following criteria will be considered in the selection process for nominees:
  1. The number of State, National-Regional, or World Series Tournaments umpired.
  2. The number of finals worked in the post-season events, as well as highest levels achieved.
  3. Special awards or recognitions, either inside or outside the softball/baseball community.
  4. Contributed greatly to advance the NSA or BPA organization.
  1. Coach/Manager:  A minimum of ten (10) years as a Coach/Manager.  In addition to qualifying for this award, the following criteria will be considered in the selection process for nominees:
  1. Teams must have finished in the final four of at least five (5) National/Regional or World Series Tournaments.
  2. In determining the most qualified candidates, the overall appearance, attitude, and sportsmanship of the nominee’s teams will be criteria used in arriving at the most qualified candidates.
  1. Meritorious: This special category will honor those individuals, organizations, or companies who have contributed greatly to the support and advancement of the NSA/BPA Organization for ten (10) years.  Examples of this category include, but are not limited to, manufacturers, suppliers, sponsors, media, financial contributors, etc. 
  2. Parks: Candidates must have been an NSA/BPA Park for ten (10) years.  Criteria for consideration for outstanding park will be those who have contributed greatly to the support and advancement of the NSA/BPA, as well as the parks that run their leagues and tournaments under the NSA/BPA banner.

Nomination Form

This application must be submitted by a sponsor having a position of Zone VP, Zone or Regional UIC, Hall of Fame Committee Member, or NSA Board of Director.
Applications MUST be post marked no later than 10/1 of the current year and will not be processed without all required* fields completed
Three (3) Character Witnesses: Applications must be submitted with a statement from each reference to jameskimmel@comcast.net within 48 hours.
