NSA Hall of Fame: Gregory Powers (2015)

Greg Powers began playing NSA Softball in the mid 1990’s.  Greg began his NSA career in Class C Division, gaining recognition as a great coach and teammate.  Greg rapidly moved up to the NSA Class A, AA and Major programs over the next decade.  Under the sponsorship of Reece Monument, Greg’s team experienced the most success in a five (5) year period by winning 5 AA and 3 Super Major World Championships. For the following two (2) years Greg continued to add players and sponsors and played at the AA / Major Level.  In 2002 Greg’s team, Chase/Reece/Roosters/Easton, won the NSA AA World by defeating Phonemasters/K & G in the finals.  In 2005 was a special year for Greg’s team, AM Las Vegas/Benfield/Shades/Easton, won the AA and The Super World Series. In 2006 Greg’s team, Benfield/Reece/Shades/Easton struck gold again winning the AA by defeating Specialty Tank/Creative Stucco for the championship.

Under the coaching leadership of Greg Powers, the accomplishments of his team in 2005 of winning both the NSA AA and Major World Championships has never been accomplished in the history of NSA.  All together Greg has lead his team to three (3) NSA AA World Championships and one (1) Major Championship.

Greg is an outstanding individual and has always been a supporter of the NSA programs both on and off the field.

On November 5, 2015, Greg Powers was inducted into the NSA Sports Hall of Fame in the Coach Category.
