NSA Hall of Fame: Steve Collins (2013)

CATEGORY: Director

YEAR INDUCTED: 2013

Steve Collins began his career with NSA in 1997 as the Massachusetts State Director. NSA did not have a presence in the Northeast and Steve set goals to increase awareness of and participation in NSA events in Massachusetts.

Steve was elevated to the Regional Youth Director one year after being appointed the Massachusetts State Director.  This new area of responsibility had a wide territory of states including Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire and Connecticut. Steve also assumed the responsibilities of the Regional Adult Director a few years later for the same states to grow the NSA brand.

In the 14 years that Steve has supported the NSA programs he has brought the programs from relative obscurity in the Region to a well respected program, registering over 700 teams in 2012.

Steve has assisted in running five (5) Girls Fast Pitch World Series, four (4) Men’s Super World Series, eight (8) Men’s Northeast World Series and four (4) 23 Under Fast Pitch World Series.

On November 13, 2013, Steve Collins was inducted into the NSA Sports Hall of Fame in the Director Category.
